"The armed men were walking before the priests who were blowing the trumpets, and the rear guard was walking after the ark, while the trumpets blew continually. But Joshua commanded the people, “You shall not shout or make your voice heard, neither shall any word go out of your mouth, until the day I tell you to shout. Then you shall shout.”  Josh 6:9-10

This is a key if you want to see the walls come down - those circumstances or strongholds that have stood between you and the freedom that Jesus brings. The rams horns here are a type of Jesus' death - His work to bring you out of bondage and into freedom. The ram had to die to provide the horn and this points to Jesus.

What does that mean for you today though? God says that walls will not come down in your strength - He commanded that the trumpets be blown continually and as that was happening the people were to remain silent. That is our pattern. When we do not see freedom coming as quickly as we would like or we feel that God has somehow decided not to bless us we can grumble and complain. We buy short term relief by speaking of all that is frustrating and rehearsing our disappointments. God says do not do that but let the sound of Jesus' death blast out - we do this by taking communion and speaking of what Jesus has done for us. Speaking out in faith that His work is enough and He is always good.

This is what happens. When we complain and moan, we strengthen the very walls we want to see fall. But when we speak and declare the work of Jesus the foundations of the walls are weakened until they will collapse.

I know it sometimes feels better to "let it all out" - But today try something different. Psalm 145:21 says "My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD" - Do that and you will feel and see the difference as circumstances begin to shift in your favour. I pray that the walls will come down!
