For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.  Ephesians 2:8

When we think of walking in grace, we know that it’s not down to us, because grace is the unearned, unmerited and undeserved favour of God.  However, when it comes to faith we think that it’s all about us – do we have enough faith, what are we believing for, how hard are we believing for something?

Faith, like grace, is a gift - it’s not earned, merited or deserved.  Our text says faith is not of ourselves, so why do we get so stressed about our faith.  God has given each one of us a measure of faith (Romans 12:3).  When it comes to faith, size is irrelevant, the key is to walk in the faith you have been given.  Faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains (Matthew 17:20).  In fact, the literal translation of Mark 11:22 reads – ‘have the faith of God.’

Today, stop stressing about your faith performance.  Rest in the faith that He has given you.  A faith that is more than enough to receive everything that He has provided for you.
