INTEGRITY

“The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

1 Samuel 16:7

Have you ever had to deal with someone who has told you one thing to your face and done something else when they are not with you? It can be hard deal with. Doing what is right is one thing but doing what is right for the right reason is another. God is intensely interested how we are inside – outer appearances can be deceiving; even apparent good actions can come from bad intentions.

Integrity has been described as the meeting of beliefs with actions. We have been called to be people who act consistently no matter happens. But God does not expect us to do it on our own.

Jesus promised us that the Holy Spirit would come and live in us, help us and guide us in truth (John 16). Living close to God, spending time in His presence and being filled with the Holy Spirit is the only way to become true men and women of integrity.

As we learn to abide in Him, His love and grace changes us from the inside out.
