"And we also [especially] thank God continually for this, that when you received the message of God [which you heard] from us, you welcomed it not as the word of [mere] men, but as it truly is, the Word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its superhuman power in those who adhere to and trust in and rely on it].” 1 Thessalonians 2:13 AMP

When you read a book, listen to a lecture, or watch an educational program on TV, you might be gaining  information for personal growth or maybe just relaxing. You might be changing your job and are reading up on a possible future new company. Or maybe your studying for an exam, and you could be lost for days reading and watching relevant documentaries.

Yet it's so easy to forget the impact that reading the Bible can have on us, or the change in your life that can come from listening to a life giving message on some biblical principles.

I love this verse in Thessalonians, because it reminds that one verse from the Word of God has superhuman power, my part of the deal is just to believe, adhere to, trust and rely on it!

Many times as I read the Bible I often stop for a few seconds, lift my hands and my eyes to God and say, "I believe, I receive," as I let God download the fullness of heaven into my spirit.

It's not that I suddenly see myself as superman but I do have greater confidence that Jesus is my healer, provider, and that I can look to Him as my source for everything. At this point everything changes and my troubles almost melt away!

Why not take time today to get the Bible out and read a few verses that will bring comfort, peace, joy and thankfulness. You might even consider listening to a message of grace on the Exchange website!
