“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:18 (NIV)
Jesus came to bring peace – shalom, also translated as wholeness, completeness, absence of striving and prosperity. The angels sang from the heavens that because of Jesus, those on whom His favour rests are guaranteed shalom.
As a child of God today, the favour of God rests on you. It’s there to stay, God’s favour does not come for a moment and then disappears; rather it rests on those who are children of God through Jesus Christ.
Jesus came into this world so that we no longer need to strive but simply rest in His finished work. Where many today are looking for peace and striving for more, be assured that God’s favour rests on your life. He has only good things for you.
This Christmas Day remember that you are favoured by God, be confident that He longs to bring peace and fullness to you today and that this peace rest, remains and abides on you.
