“God is all mercy and grace – not quick to anger, is rich in love.”
Psalm 145:8 (MSG)
Let’s face it, there are times when people wind us right up, disappoint us, annoy us, overlook us or neglect us. This is real life after all, not a Disney production of Narnia.
What makes the difference, is how we choose to respond.
We are outwardly imperfect people who are being transformed from the inside out by the indwelling, perfect love of God. We need to remember how God has dealt, is dealing and will continue to deal with us. He daily shows us such mercy in sparing us from what sin would condemn us to and such grace in giving to us the keys of the Kingdom and all the riches that this entails.
And, with God, there is always the second chance. Let’s choose to reflect this in our own community.
A community in which people may stumble and fall, may make mistakes or bad choices but are continually helped and encouraged on in their journey of faith, safe in the knowledge that it’s ok because they are loved and valued by those round about them and by God Himself.
