“And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child.And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.” Luke 2:16-20
Have you ever considered the thoughts you allow into your heart? Life can be a roller coaster at times and circumstances can move us from the mountaintops to the valleys! We can find our emotions all over the place as we try to make sense of the world around us.
Imagine what Mary's journey had been like. It was an adventure for sure! It was definitely not the way she would have planned it and a lot of it probably seemed crazy and a real challenge. I mean, giving birth in a stable!
But Mary chose to dwell on every detail in which God revealed more of his glory. She listened to every voice that affirmed what the angel had spoken to her and she treasured each of these testimonies in her heart.
Take time today to reflect on all that God has done in your life. Recall again the moment you encountered Jesus and the way in which he has stepped in to rescue, protect and deliver you. Ponder the dreams he has placed in your heart and the destiny for which he has called you and like Mary be prepared to step out wherever he leads you.
