“When the religious leaders saw the outrageous things he was doing, and heard all the children running and shouting through the Temple, “Hosanna to David’s Son!” they were up in arms and took him to task. “Do you hear what these children are saying?” Jesus said, “Yes, I hear them. And haven’t you read in God’s Word, ‘From the mouths of children and babies I’ll furnish a place of praise’?” Matthew21:15-16MS

We've heard it said, our ceiling will be their floor. This excites me when it comes to thinking of our future church. Our children are the future church.

When I look at Ari'Ela singing with her arms held high to God in our living room or when I watch Elijah close his eyes and whisper his own prayer of thanks softly at the dinner table I'm reminded of how far they've come already!

As adults we have so much baggage- life can hurt and church can hurt, and each of these things can stunt our spiritual journey. But when we look at our children we see a freedom, an innocence, a rest and an ease. And Jesus tells us that the kingdom is for such as these! Wow!

As we stand in worship each Sunday morning, I envisage our prayers and praise falling over them in the floors below. It's their environment and it's their norm. And God will use us and His church to "furnish a place of praise" in our kids!
