When going on holiday this year we took a total of 6 different chargers for the mobile phones, fitness trackers, and not forgetting the iPads!!! We also needed to pack 2 voltage converters.
We take our electricity for granted at home and it became a real pain taking turns to ensure everyone got their time to “power up” each day.
It got me thinking about how, on holiday, are we as careful to ensure we remain fully connected to God. It’s easy to let new sights and surroundings distract us but it's vital that, even though we are away to rest and recharge, we don't neglect our daily feeding of God’s word. The wonderful thing is that we don’t need a cable, a power source, or a voltage converter to connect with God. The power is always there and it’s up to us to plug into the source daily.
Jeremiah 29:13 says “you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart”. His word is our power source and He longs for you to seek Him daily. Just as you would text or call friends and family to stay in touch, take time to have a heart to the heart connection with God each day. His word declares “I will be found by you” as he has given us His word as a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, to lead us to Him.
