While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.”
Mark 5:35-36
What an amazing verse. When I think about it I become very aware of the countless opportunities that I have, and I will have even today, to make a choice about what will determine where my heart goes. Religious people criticise grace teachers as being unrealistic about life and giving people "false" hope.
The truth is that the grace of God reminds you today that in Jesus you have a strong anchor for your life. The verse today shows us that even in the face of death itself Jesus' response is to remind us that we do not need to be afraid - we simply must believe.
Make a positive choice today. The Holy Spirit will continually minister the love of God for you today. He will reassure you that no matter what comes across your path today that if you choose to believe the promises of God's goodness then you will flow in peace and nothing will overcome you. It is your choice - ask yourself what God's view is onyour situation and then choose to believe that.
You do not need to be afraid - As Jesus said here - ONLY believe.
