"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you." Romans 8:11 (NLT)
A few months ago we experienced a power cut in our house one evening. It only lasted an hour or so but in that time we were plunged into darkness and our house went eerily silent (which it rarely is).
It reminded me of an analogy Andrew Wommack used to teach. The electricity flowing into your house is like God's power flowing in your life only it is immune from any power cuts. When you walk into a room in your house and want the light on, you don't ring the power company and ask them to turn it on. The power has already been supplied. Similarly, if we have received Jesus into our life, our verse tells us we have the power of Christ in us. It just requires us to flick the switch.
We don't need to ask God to heal us, His word says he has already defeated sickness and death through Jesus sacrifice at the cross (1 Peter 2.24). We need to believe that it has been done, and receive our healing in Jesus name. We need to flick the switch by looking to our healer Jesus and seeking Him. I have found taking communion at home a great way of setting aside time and remembering what was accomplished on the cross for us all. The more time we spend with Him, the easier it will be to receive the blessings He has already supplied for us.
Remember this week, Gods power is flowing in you! Flick the switch and His light will defeat any darkness.
