Matthew 19:14
“but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
As a daddy and an educator, I discover many different opinions and viewpoints on children on an hourly or daily basis. Many people’s opinions come from a genuine place of trying to give a useful input or piece of advice. They can advise one method of discipline or another and claim it’s really worked for them. Friends can disagree and there are many arguments that can spill out from the conversations of well-meaning parents
But as I continue to really look at God’s word and see Daddy God’s intention and heart towards us I love that we are continually held in great esteem by the Father. He loves us with an everlasting love, even greater than I could ever have for my own girls, and I feel that’s pretty strong!
Recently Pastor Prince related it to how he parents his own children, he sees the qualities they possess deep within them and calls to them when he speaks to his children. For example, when his daughter is finding it hard to be patient he testifies to that patience she has through her identity in Christ Jesus, when she didn’t want to share he testified her ability to share. Through this conversation and interaction more and more of her wonderful qualities came to light as they were fed truth and love daily; parenting issues soon dissolved like snow in the desert.
When we see ourselves through God’s eyes, we see the reflection of us as the best version we can be. We are patient, we are kind, we are caring and honest and loving. If our children respond to that, how much more will we respond to Daddy God.
Why not take time out and ask Daddy God to reveal his perception of you today, remember your identity is rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus. Discover that you are immeasurably loved and cared for, let him draw out the good qualities that exist in you because of who you are in Christ Jesus. The adventure of Discovery is yours to begin today!
