“From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Eph 4:16
As the holiday season approaches many of us will no doubt admit to over indulging on all sort of festive food and treats. And as sure as morning follows night, many of us will also then decide to cut down on certain types of food and engage in some physical exercise. We all know that physical activity is good for us - it is good for body, heart and soul.
The Apostle Paul likens the Church to the human body and reminds us that the body grows and is strengthened as each part works together. When each part of the body finds its place and is able to carry out the work for which it is designed then the body will thrive.
We are also reminded that the source of life and health is Jesus. He has made each of us with different abilities and passions and as we step into that for which we have been made then the Church body will build itself in love.
What is your passion for life? What has God put in your heart? How does this find expression in the context of the Church? When you find your place, joined to others, connected to the head of the body, Jesus, then you will truly thrive in life.
